Think The Better -- Of Wasting Your Money

I was looking for a book of puzzles and exercises that would help me cultivate my capacity for creative and non-linear thinking. Unfortunately, the questions in this book are nothing more than intensely annoying. Let me start by citing one of the better puzzles. Though not labeled as such, it is a riddle: What three-letter word completes the first word [listed below]and start the second? DON CAR. You may have come across this riddle in childhood-- the answer is "key" because "key" added to "don" makes the word "donkey" and also a key starts a car. More typical of this book is the question, "Where are the Pyrenees?" The "correct" answer is "Just above the 'Pair O'Shins.'" Or perhaps you would like to ponder the trivia question, "Who was the tallest president of the United States?" The "correct" answer to that one is "Dwight D. Eiffel Tower." And here is one of the lateral thinking scenarios Outstanding Lateral Thinking Puzzles offers for your contemplation: Why did a bottle of wine jump in value a thousandfold overnight? The answer to that one is, "The bottle was signed by all four member os the Beatles and immediately became valuable as a collector's item the night John Lennon died." Need I say more? I hope not because I have already wasted time looking through this book and carrying it to my recycle bin. I can't waste another second reviewing it further.

So much fun!!

This book is so much fun! I had originally bought it for my 11-year-old son to expose him to something new. He ended up being incredibly good at it right off the bat, and I totally stunk!! But now, I have caught onto the concept of thinking outside the box and we have so much fun working out the scenarios. Very entertaining and challenging.

I used this book with my learning disabled students in math class. It made them use their noggins, and they were actually competitive and enjoyed it.

About the Author
Josh Rivedal is an author, actor, playwright, and international public speaker. He has spoken about suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and diversity in more than ninety locations across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Australia. He has served on the board of directors for the New York City chapter of The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. He wrote and developed the one-man play, Kicking My Blue Genes in The Butt (KMBB), which has toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. His memoir The Gospel According to Josh: A 28-Year Gentile Bar Mitzvah, based on KMBB and published by Skookum Hill in 2013, is on The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's recommended reading list. He writes for the Huffington Post. He is the founder and executive director of The i'Mpossible Project--a non-profit media company designed to entertain, educate, and engage on suicide prevention, mental health, diversity and social change. Yes, my personal credit wasn't useable!

The reason we began my beading business with my personal credit was simply because it was all we had and it wasn't too good at that. We looked around for better financing because we needed far more product if we were going to get our dream of having three mall kiosks in three of the town's malls. Great Way To Find Out How To Do It

This is the one book to get on the corporate credit approach. If you've listened to radio ads for seminars and thought is this possible, everything you need is right here. My personal credit was iffy but using this book we established business credit and the capital we need is available to us. We have a strong Business Credit Profile (something the book talks about), and we are looking for a new location for our business.
