It should be read and studied by students, teachers and professionals related to regional planning and sustainable development. It contain the core elements of development issues in dry and semi-arid areas. The lessons contained therein reflect years of study and research by a set of famous and recognized professional (scientists or technicians). Also reflect the practical knowledge of farmers who live and survive in the territories affected by droughts. Your greatest lessons are, however, related to the emphasis given to better use of water, every day more scarce, even in humid or sub-humid areas of the world. Can be read as a support base for increased food supply, where possible grant highlight (theoretical and practical) to agricultural production backed by biological innovations (in line with using of high yielding varieties of seeds).
